Nishant holds a graduate degree in commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.

Since his school days, he has been a professional chess player and has participated in various prestigious events such as the Commonwealth Games and World Junior Chess Championship. On SRCC’s annual day, he was awarded by Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley for excellence in sports and academics.
