Issues Resolution Roundtable for AMCHAM Members

The Americas team at Invest India organized the 3rd AMCHAM members’ issue resolution roundtable at the Invest India offices on 16 July 2019 under the Chairmanship of Shri Rajiv Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade to discuss various issues raised by US Companies. These issue resolution roundtables have proved to be an effective facilitation platform, where Invest India brings together relevant stakeholders with the right level of decision making authority on to one single platform for speedy issue resolution.
AMCHAM member companies conducting or planning to conduct business in India, and needing help negotiating the local and central policies and procedures were represented by senior company executives. Various government ministries and departments associated with the relevant subject matter also had official representation, including DPIIT, DoC, DSIR, CBIC, Consumer Affairs, DGFT, MeitY, DoT, MoP among others. In all, the session was attended by 5 companies and 10 central government departments.
As the organizers, Invest India worked closely with all the stakeholders in the run-up to the roundtable to draft well articulated issue representations, suggested resolutions and identify the relevant departments and moderate the discussion. The facilitation exercise turned out to be very productive, with two of the member companies finding a satisfactory resolution of their issues within the meeting, and the others obtaining a clear plan of action along with owners.
Given the success and positive feedback from all stakeholders, the Americas team plans to continue organizing these series of roundtables to ensure speedy redressal of issues for our foreign investors.
