About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a bridge between M/o MSME and Invest India ecosystem.
  • Provide investment facilitation support for MSMEs in India looking to invest or expand in India. Understand their needs and guide them through the investment process.
  • Help M/o MSME in developing & executing investment promotion strategy for enabling investment in MSMEs
  • Actively engage with key industry stakeholders, including but not limited to the Central and State Governments, regulatory bodies, and industry associations. Identify and develop business opportunities through these interactions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to facilitate MSMEs and enhance their participation in various economic activities.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders (Government bodies, industry, industry associations etc.) to build and implement plans to support MSMEs' growth and sustainability.
  • Work closely with multiple teams within Invest India ecosystem to provide comprehensive facilitation support to MSMEs.
  • Liaise with relevant government agencies, industry associations, and service providers to facilitate projects initiated by MSMEs.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify opportunities and challenges for MSMEs in key sectors of the Indian economy.
  • Fostering strong partnerships with MSMEs & multiple MSME bodies to ensure alignment with government policies and initiatives.
  • Conceptualize and lead stakeholder consultations, roundtables and events related to MSMEs across sectors.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of initiatives, track progress against targets, and prepare regular reports for senior management

Qualifications

  • Professional with at least 7 – 10 years of experience in consulting, public policy, project management, business development or allied areas, along with managing teams preferably with a focus on MSMEs or Startups.
  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s in economics, Business Administration, Foreign Trade, Public Policy, or allied areas. Master's degree in relevant domain will be preferred.
  • Proven track record of driving successful initiatives and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with government policies & regulations related to MSMEs is desirable.
