About the Department
Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.
We are seeking candidates who will be working in the Defence & Aerospace Sector team for promoting investments in the sector. S/he will be working closely with stakeholders in the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Civil Aviation, industry associations, private companies, etc. for the promotion and facilitation of investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing strategic investments to build an investment pipeline of companies that have the potential to invest in India. This includes analysing investor signals and developing frameworks for an accurate investor targeting strategy.
- Creation of up-to-date and relevant knowledge content and collaterals for the Defence & Aerospace sector including market opportunity, trends, policy initiatives highlight, success stories for pitch decks, brochures & flyers, country/ sector/ state profiles besides research on leading practices, and insights on replicable practices in the Indian context.
- Creation and updating of the database of stakeholders including companies, government agencies, associations, think tanks, and start-ups in the Defence & Aerospace sector.
- Understanding and mapping regulatory compliances and ease of doing business measures and identifying and bridging existing gaps as highlighted by Defence & Aerospace industry stakeholders.
- Facilitation and handholding of new and existing investors in market entry strategy and expansion advisory, policy advisory, JV & strategic partner search, and issue resolution.
- Liaising with Line Ministries, prospective investors, and Industry Associations.
- Organizing stakeholder consultations, roundtables, and investment promotion events to pitch investment opportunities in the Defence & Aerospace sector.
Qualifications
- Graduate/ Post Graduate degree
- 2 - 4 years of work experience in a front-end role at a consulting firm / developmental agency/ investment bank/investment promotion agency / global corporate
- Experience in preparing investor pitch decks, sectoral analysis reports, DPR- s, policy briefs, policy analysis, research reports, etc.
- Ability to work in teams and take ownership of the task at hand
- Excellent communication, people, and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver on tight timelines
- Proficiency in MS Office, in particular Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with industry databases for intelligence gathering is a plus
