About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Investment Facilitation: Serve as the primary point of contact for European companies, especially from Germany and Eastern Europe, looking to invest or expand in India. Understand their needs and guide them through the investment process.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage with key industry stakeholders, including but not limited to the German Embassy, Central and State Governments, regulatory bodies, and industry associations. Identify and develop business opportunities through these interactions.
  • Program Support: Utilize established platforms like the Indo-German Fast Track Mechanism, Make in India Mittelstand, and the German-India Startup Exchange Program to support and streamline investment and partnership initiatives.
  • Event Management: Organize, participate in, and possibly lead roadshows, events, and roundtables aimed at promoting India as a prime investment destination.
  • Research and Development: Develop comprehensive research documents and pitch presentations that help investors navigate the Indian market landscape, highlighting opportunities and providing insights.
  • Policy Advisory and Strategy: Offer expert policy advice and strategic guidance on market entry, expansion, and issue resolution to both new and existing investors. his includes providing inputs on policy matters and expansion advisory services.
  • Partnership Development: Foster joint ventures and strategic partnerships, facilitating market expansion for investors through effective collaboration.
  • Investment Promotion Spectrum: Oversee and manage the entire spectrum of investment promotion activities—research, outreach, promotion, facilitation, and aftercare—to improve the investment climate and support business growth.

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor's or Masters degree (Public Policy, Development Studies, Economics, Law or a related field will be preferred)
  • 2+ years of work experience (Consulting/ Investment Banking/ Multilateral Institutions/ Public Policy/Commercial Law will be preferred)
  • Strong Research, Communications, Coordination, Relationship Management, Cross-Functional Collaboration Skills
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel, MS Word, Power-Point and Strong Presentation Skills
