About the Department

The AGNIi Mission is a flagship initiative under the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, and one of nine technology Missions under the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC). The Office executes the Mission in collaboration with Invest India, the national investment promotion agency.

The AGNIi Mission focuses on commercialising Indian emerging technologies: helping private, public, and non-profit sector organisations upgrade capabilities and competitiveness with Indian startup and laboratory innovation. AGNIi has helped global multinationals and government agencies leverage technologies from artificial intelligence (AI) and drones to cleantech and food processing besides many others.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically develop and drive a commercialization roadmap to support Indian innovators with market access and scaling channels
  • Identify and develop long term ecosystem partnerships with government/ public/ private industries in line with AGNIi’s mission
  • Build and exercise best practices to consult with technology scouting/ deployment / licensing channels, diagnose their innovation focused problem statements, outline and execute operations to solve the problem, deliver results and measure the program’s impact
  • Establish an in-depth understanding of your prospect’s pain points/needs and scout for relevant technological solutions for the same
  • Analyse technology/industry trends to identify technology pain points and draw out use cases to solve these pain points
  • Utilise and adhere to tools to track KRAs and monitor progress with industry partners to accelerate the growth of innovations
  • Coordinate effectively with all stakeholders within and outside the organization to improve efficiency
  • Creating presentations, documents, and reports to clearly showcase work and results to executive management
  • Responsible for designing and delivering projects on strict timelines with limited guidance
  • Proactive in developing relationships and strategies to accomplish objectives and accountability in delivering results
  • Streamline engagements with industry partners and ensure timely communication based on best practices
  • Any other responsibility that may be assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the STEM, commerce / finance, design, or the humanities or graduate qualification in or related to the fields of business administration, engineering, public policy, sustainability, human development is preferable
  • Strong academic track record
  • Master’s degree (MBA or MS or equivalent) is preferable
  • Prior professional experience b/w 3 to 5 years in business development, program management, technology consulting, venture capital, product design, MSME, startups, public policy, sustainability or similar backgrounds
  • High degree of responsibility, with demonstrated supporting experience; capable of formulating and executing sector strategy with a high measure of initiative
  • Excellent client facing and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse and synthesise technical and operational information into concise decision-support briefs
  • Excellent research and drafting skills; the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and simply, in writing and verbally, to technology and funding decision-makers at senior tiers across the ecosystem
  • Must understand sense of urgency and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong management skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
  • Attention to detail and end-to-end ownership
  • Advanced presentation and excel skills
