Puducherry experiences a tropical wet and dry climate. The winter and summer seasons are moderate. The summer season peaks from May to June, with high temperatures.
All four regions of the Union Territory—Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam—experience high humidity throughout the year, ranging from 75-85% due to their coastal influence.
The Puducherry and Karaikal regions receive most of their rainfall from the Northeast Monsoon (October–December), while Mahe and Yanam primarily experience the Southwest Monsoon (June–September).
Winters extend from December to February, when temperatures drop relatively but remain mild. In all four regions, the mean maximum temperature is approximately 34 degrees Celcius, and the mean minimum temperature is around 24 degrees Celcius.
