Project Monitoring Group (PMG) has been regularly conducting review meetings to get definite timelines for resolving issues about mega infrastructure projects, which are pending with different state governments and central ministries. Central ministry officials attend these review meetings, senior officials from the concerned state government, district collectors and project proponents. Open issues in projects spanning significant sectors, including railways, roads and highways, oil and gas, coal, mines, metro, power, renewable energy, and cement, are discussed at length in these meetings. PMG conducted two-state review meetings and three ministry sub-group review meetings. Officials from the cabinet secretariat were also present, and they provided their valuable feedback and input. 

  • Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Communications, and Ministry Defence Sub-Group Review Meeting was chaired by Amrit Lal Meena, Special Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India. 20 issues in 17 projects, having a total investment value of INR 2.03 lakh crore, were discussed. As a result of this review, six issues across five projects were resolved. Further, clear timelines were given by the ministries to resolve open issues. 
  • Ministry of Coal, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Heavy Industries, and Ministry of Steel Sub-Group Review Meeting was chaired by Rajendra Ratnoo, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. 27 issues in 20 projects having a total investment value of INR 1.39 lakh crore were discussed. As a result of this review, six issues across six projects were resolved. Further, clear timelines were given by ministries for the resolution of the open issues. 
  • Jharkhand Review Meeting was chaired by Amrit Lal Meena, Special Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. 78 issues in 31 projects, having a total investment value of INR 1.29 lakh crore, were discussed. As a result of this review, four issues across four projects were resolved. Further, clear timelines were given by the state government officials to resolve the open issues. 
  • Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change was chaired by Amrit Lal Meena, Special Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. 289 issues in 37 projects, having a total investment value of INR 3.12 lakh crore, were discussed. As a result of this review, 144 issues across ten projects were resolved. Further, clear timelines were given by ministries for the resolution of the open issues. 
  • Maharashtra Review Meeting was chaired by Amrit Lal Meena, Special Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. 147 issues in 53 projects, having a total investment value of INR 5.09 lakh crore, were discussed. As a result of this review, nine issues across seven projects were resolved. Further, clear timelines were given by the state government officials to resolve the open issues.
  • State PMG Portal and On-Boarding of Districts and Departments: PMG team organised three sessions with state governments of Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Tripura to acquaint them with the state PMG technology portal and on-boarding of districts and departments. 
  • Nodal Officers' Meeting: A meeting chaired by Amrit Lal Meena, Special Secretary (Logistics), DPIIT, was held with nodal officers of all ministries through video conference to discuss delayed infrastructure projects. The meeting agenda was to discuss progress on entry of milestone data, actions taken by ministries to expedite project implementation, setting up in-house PMG cells in ministries, and updating project-level information on the PMG portal. 
  • Capacity Building Sessions: PMG organised a workshop on 'Optimal Utilisation of PMG Portal' for the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers for training participants and sharing observations and feedback on the entry of milestone data on the PMG portal. 100+ representatives from the three ministries attended these sessions.
