Startup India in collaboration with DTRTI (Direct Taxes Regional Training Institute) Bengaluru organized a sensitization session for Income Tax Officers (ACIT level and above). The session was targeted to acquaint the income tax officers with the experience and needs of the ecosystem from the direct tax assessment officers.

The opening remarks were given by Anil Agrawal, Additional Secretary, DPIIT. The capacity building session began with focused sessions from Rajendra Ratnoo, Joint Secretary DPIIT, Pranay Chaturvedi, Deputy Director, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and Prajna Paramita, IRS, Director, ITA, Central Board of Direct Taxes, on the impact of tax and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) related benefits offered to startups. The second half involved an introduction to the Startup India initiative followed by interaction with rising startups and notable investors.
