The Startup India delegation, led by Ms. Manmeet Kaur Nanda, Joint Secretary, DPIIT visited South Korea to explore the opportunities to explore possible synergies and exchanges in the startup sector of the two countries as a part of the States’ Startup Ranking International capacity building exercise. The representatives underscored the significance of policy incentives like tax cuts, low-interest loans, and infrastructure development in encouraging research, development, and entrepreneurship, highlighting a valuable lesson for nurturing innovation and economic growth. Moreover, 10 visionary startups shared their interest in expanding into the vibrant Indian market, fostering pathways for fruitful collaborations in the future. This allowed the delegation with an enhanced appreciation for the potential for cross-border collaborations and future partnerships between Korean startups and the dynamic Indian market. A key takeaway of the two countries coming together was understanding how robust government support can be a game-changer for the startup ecosystem.
