The Western Europe Team at Invest India, in collaboration with Startup India, hosted a delegation of French start-ups which had come to India as a part of the visit by the French minister for Digital Transition and Telecommunications. The discussion focussed on the changing Indian business landscape as well as avenues for the French and the Indian Startup ecosystems to collaborate. 

The visit started with a presentation by Startup India and Make in India teams at the Invest India office followed by a visit to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT)- Delhi Startup accelerator Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) by the start-ups and the Minister.

  • Indo-Dutch Maritime Forum

Invest India co-organized a business roundtable as part of the 5th edition of the ‘Indo-Dutch Maritime Forum’ with the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Mumbai. Invest India delivered a presentation to a delegation of around 18 Dutch companies and other stakeholders in the Dutch maritime industry on the opportunities in the Indian maritime sector and key reforms introduced by the Government of India to promote investment in the industry. This was followed by an open discussion with the Dutch and Indian stakeholders on enhancing the ease of doing business in the industry.

  • India-Belgium Business Roundtable

Priya Rawat, Chief Operations Officer (COO), Invest India participated in an India-Belgium Business Roundtable as the opening speaker. The roundtable brought together people from a cross-section of the Belgian and European business community keen to do business in India, as well as representatives of the European Union (EU) institutions. The speech outlined India’s business potential, changing policy landscape, and the evolution of the India-Belgium trade landscape. The roundtable supports the Embassy of India’s program of Public Diplomacy as the country celebrates important milestones in its independence and diplomatic relations with Belgium and the EU.

 

  • India-Italy Business Forum and B2B event

The embassy of India in Rome organised the India-Italy Business Forum and business to business (B2B) event in Rome, Italy. Varda Taneja, Vice President, Invest India presented the opportunities in India for Italian companies. The forum witnessed the participation of key industry members from both countries across strategically important sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy with a focus on start-ups and innovation.

  • India-Netherlands Business Seminar

Invest India participated in an India-Netherlands Business Seminar organized by the Embassy of India in the Netherlands. The session commemorated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and the Netherlands. Ravneet Mann, Vice President, Invest India delivered a presentation on the opportunities in India for Dutch companies looking to invest and carry out business in the country. She highlighted the key reforms and initiatives recently introduced by the Government of India for ease of doing business. The event was also chaired by Reenat Sandhu, Ambassador of India to the Netherlands.

  • Uttar Pradesh State Opportunity for Danish Companies

The Western Europe Team and the Uttar Pradesh (UP) state team at Invest India collaborated with the Embassy of India in Denmark to organize a hybrid roadshow in Copenhagen. It provided a platform to showcase business opportunities in UP and disseminate information in key sectors of agriculture, water, health, and medical tourism ahead of the UP Global Investor Summit in 2023. The session was joined by Pooja Kapur, Ambassador of Denmark; Abhishek Prakash, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Invest UP; and representatives from Danish Companies looking to invest in India and Uttar Pradesh.

  • India- Sweden Business Criticality Call

The India- Sweden Business Criticality Call is a monthly call hosted jointly by Invest India and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in India. It is a platform where prospective investors receive key highlights and updates from recent policy announcements, industry news, and highlight, and issues that their company or sector is facing. The forum’s discussion was focused on National Single Window System (NSWS) and ended with a fruitful question and answer session where doubts of some of the companies were resolved.

  • 20th India- Sweden Joint Commission for Economic, Industrial and Scientific Cooperation session 

The 20th session of the India-Sweden Joint Commission for Economic, Industrial and Scientific Cooperation (JCEISC) was co-chaired by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and Johan Forssell, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade for Sweden. The JCEISC saw participation from major Swedish and Indian companies to discuss collaborations in areas including green transition, fintech, digital technologies, information technology and pharmaceutical in a Business Forum jointly organised by DPIIT and Invest India. Deepak Bagla, CEO and Managing Director (MD) Invest India also addressed the Swedish businesses and government officials gathered to highlight the rich history of the India-Sweden relationship and the expanded scope of possibilities for bilateral relations going forward.

  • Webinar for Danish Companies for Opportunities in India

Invest India and the Embassy of Denmark in India jointly held a webinar on the India opportunity for Danish companies in the country. The session was the first of a quarterly webinar series that is planned to be held by Invest India and the Embassy of Denmark over the coming year to garner Danish interest in key sectors. The first session was inaugurated by Freddy Svane, Ambassador of Denmark and Rajeev Ratnoo, Joint Secretary, DPIIT. The webinar also had a session highlighting the renewable sector presented by Dinesh Jagdale, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), as well as a session on exporting to India by Y.P. Dhewal, Director, Department of Commerce, to introduce the Danish companies to India landscape.
