To advance the AGNIi (Accelerating Growth of New India's Innovations) mission's work in climate change and energy, the team initiated a collaboration with the state of Uttarakhand this month. The team is working with the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) and stakeholders in the State Forest Department to understand the priorities and scope for engaging technologies to address climate change in the Himalayan Region of India, among the most vulnerable to climate risks. Going forward, the team will conduct in-depth consultations and surveys to understand the pain points in forest protection and management, climate adaptive water management and agriculture. It will provide advice on the most impactful technological solutions, from the Indian innovation ecosystem to potential adopters in the State of Uttarakhand.
