- The scheme aims to empower and facilitate khadi spinners and weavers by enabling them to carve out a sustainable path for growth of business, generation of income and a conducive work environment
- KEY BENEFITS
- The scheme would enable the provision of a conducive work environment through better ambience and infrastructure which would enable artisans to carry out their spinning and weaving work efficiently
- Further the scheme would enable the provision of increased storage space for housing slivers, raw materials, implements, etc. and would provide more working space for artisans
- Additionally, the scheme would assist in enhancing efficiency and productivity of spinners, weavers, which would in turn increase their production and lead to an increase in their earnings
- SCHEME APPLICABLE FOR
- Khadi Artisans and Khadi/ polyvastra producing Institutions can apply for the scheme
- DETAILED INFORMATION
- Under this scheme financial assistance would be provided to Khadi artisans belonging to the BPL category. Pertinently, in states where BPL cards have been issued, the artisans would be covered under the scheme. In states where BPL cards are not being issued at present, identification for eligible artisans would be made in a fair and transparent process. Further, the benefits under the scheme can be availed by only those artisans who work for at least 100 days in a year
