2nd highest literacy rate among states in India

Mizoram is also called "Land of the hill people" and is among the fastest growing states in India.

Mizoram boasts a unique blend of cross-cultural vibrancy, with a high literacy rate of 92%, which is the second-highest in the country. It has a has a strong commitment to gender equality and a deep respect for its ancient cultural traditions and social values. Women play an important role in the workforce in Mizoram, and they are highly respected and valued. They are considered equal to men and are given equal opportunities to participate in all aspects of society.

Mizoram lies in the North-Eastern part of India and shares 404 km and 318 km long international border with Myanmar and Bangladesh respectively. Major rivers flowing through the state, such as Tlawng and Tiau, provide hydroelectric power potential that is sufficient to meet the energy requirements of the state. The trade from industries in Mizoram can flourish immensely as the state is well connected to the rest of the country with an airport in Lengpui.

Mizoram's valleys are characterized by perennial clear water streams that contain high levels of oxygen, making them suitable for the intensive cultivation of various freshwater fish species. 

Under PMMSY, a total of 5 new freshwater finfish hatchery will be established to boost the fish seed productions. Inputs for fisheries will be provided to cover an area of 140 Ha of water in Mizoram.

Zoram Mega Food Park was set up in the state at 55 acres of land, with the following facilities: Cold Storage, Drywarehouse, Spices drying facility, and Food Testing Laboratory.
