About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with the various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii and PMG.

The Ministry of Culture has the mandate of preservation and conservation of national cultural heritage, art, and art forms and for creation and maintenance of related cultural institutions and sites such as Monuments and Museums. Under this scope, the Ministry from time to time launches schemes and undertakes various activities and projects with the core objective of maintaining and promoting cultural awareness. To further the same objective, the Ministry is constituting a dedicated Project Management Unit for Museums with a two-fold objective –

  •  To oversee the process of setting up new Museums as envisioned by the Ministry and ensure the incorporation of global best practices.
  • To oversee the process of enhancement of existing Museums under the Ministry and ensure the incorporation of global best practices

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Research best practices being used in museums globally and analyse current working models of museums
  • Policy Advocacy: Analyse current issues in policies related to cultural/heritage development and conservation and conduct studies/stakeholder discussions/international benchmarking analysis to formulate policies to promote Indian Arts, Culture and Heritage
  • Culture Ecosystem Screening: Assist ministry screen experts for various positions and other such related stakeholder management
  • Ability to manage research projects end-to-end
  • Adept at stakeholder management
  • Adept at organising research roundtables and publishing research documents
  • To assist in RFP creation, vendor research and selection, contract negotiations, and transition management
  • Developing multilateral action plans, nationally and internationally, driven by the research agenda and through suitable outreach involving all relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in , Economics, Commerce, Science, Public Policy domains, Anthropology or Museology.
  • 5+ Years’ experience in Government Advisory/Project Management/ Areas of Art, Culture and Heritage
  • Robust Research, Communications, and Analytical Skills
  • Excellent understanding of the Indian arts, culture, heritage and a passion to promote them
