About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNIi, and PMG.

On 3rd June, 2020, the Union Cabinet under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi gave its approval for setting up of an “Empowered Group of Secretaries (E-GoS) and Project Development Cells (PDCs) in Ministries/Departments of Government of India for attracting investments in India to help enforce India’s vision of becoming a US$ 5 trillion economy by 2024-25. A specialised team has been set up at Invest India to help oversee and support the work and implementation of the investments in each PDC to help bring efficiencies into the reporting and grounding of the investments.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for project management and program management with respect to investor targeting and facilitation strategy, creating action plans for the initiatives sector and analyse trends, investments, issues and other key metrics required to ground to support the initiatives.

Key Result Areas will include:

  • Review list of potential investors after discussions in tandem with internal and external stakeholders (including PDCs, associations, Invest India teams etc.)
  • Interact with potential investors to identify policy issues and systemic interventions
  • Plan and execute various stakeholders’ engagement activities such as consultation, roadshows, client meetings, webinars on key GoI interventions
  • Evaluate existing and upcoming project pipeline; Identify projects that can be implemented on the ground on a fast-track basis; classify projects based on their importance
  • Formulate industry-level strategies for overall business and industry growth
  • Support investors and the industry with policy representations and issue redressal to enable overall ease of doing business in the sector
  • Effectively understand industry pain points and global best practices from other markets and stakeholders to effectively communicate and co-create industry growth strategy with Indian industry and Government stakeholders
  • Address ad hoc requests on Make in India portal and from various department
  • Use enabling tools for online monitoring and reporting its efforts to attract investments

Qualifications

  • Relevant Experience: 3-10 Years
  • Prior work experience in Program Management, Technology Strategy, Product Management, Public Policy and General Management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Great stakeholder management
  • Knowledge of policies and regulatory landscape in India and globally
  • Ability to work in teams and independently take responsibility for delivering key results
  • Excellent Research skills, Business Communication, and Analytical Skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure for engagements and deliverables for the Government of India
