Invest India's work spans the entire spectrum of India's transformational business sectors implementing detailed India entry strategies and research, end-to-end handholding, and investment aftercare.
About the Role
The is a senior leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction, driving operational excellence, and contributing to the organization's mission of attracting investments and promoting economic growth. The candidate will play a crucial role in leading and managing teams, developing strategies, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve Invest India's objectives. Invest India is looking to strengthen its Hi-Tech sectoral focus across Semiconductor, Electronics, Automotive, Telecom, IT and Medical Devices sectors by bringing in an experienced Industry leader to head the Technology sectors. This position will also enable the regional focus strengthening of Invest India with focus on South India.
Key Responsibilities
- Head the technology engagements and investment strategy for high technology sectors including Semiconductor, Electronics, Automotive, Telecom, IT and Medical Devices
- Value chain enabling for high technology sectors through engagements across the end to end supply chain needed for the associate sector.
- India Manufacturing strategy, investment enablement and supply chain mapping for high technology sectors
- Lead the sectoral teams working on these areas by setting departmental objectives, targets, implementation strategies and engagement strategy
- Responsible for planning, supervision, monitoring, budgeting, evaluation & reporting and coordination to ensure sectoral development in accordance with the policies and initiatives of the Govt. of India
- Advising, planning and ensure leadership in working with internal and external stakeholders to devise and implement solutions related to process and activities under various initiations of the concerned ministries
- Lead engagement teams with new potential foreign investors and approaching them in a focused, structured manner for investments in the high technology sectors listed
- Bring regional focus to South India through regional opportunity pipeline and engagement pipeline building as an additional responsibility
- Additional responsibility for leading the regional offices and site infrastructure development for Invest India sites/offices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 20 years of Industry experience with leading Global and Indian technology companies working closely with CXO functions
- MBA from top tier business schools and B.Tech in Electronics/Computer Science/Electrical or related engineering fields
- Proven experience of minimum 15+ years in customer facing roles engaging primarily with global corporations
- Strong strategic orientation and acumen to craft investment strategies, technology engagement and business case building
- Proven experience in Global Supply Chain functions with specific focus on manufacturing of electronics, semiconductor or technology products for 5+ years
- Deep knowledge of the Indian technology ecosystem and supply chain will be desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling presentations and represent the organization effectively
- Proficiency in analyzing economic trends, investment data, and market insights to inform strategic decisions.
