About the Department
Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department of Promotion for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.
Under the sectorial team of Tourism - Invest India, we are looking to hire a manager who will be supporting the team for various activities as stated below.
Key Responsibilities
The manager will be responsible for assisting the team to execute the strategy for promoting Medical Value Tourism (MVT) in India, export of competent Indian medical workforce globally, & various other workstreams within the remit of the Ministry. Invest India has set up a dedicated Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoH&FW), Government of India to realize the vision of ‘Heal in India, Heal by India’ by cementing the roots of Medical Value Tourism (MVT) in the Healthcare ecosystem. S/he will be closely working with stakeholders in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoH&FW), the Department of Pharmaceutical (DoP) and other concerned ministries / departments, industry associations, private companies etc. for organizing stakeholder consultations, policy advocacy, in-depth research and analysis of issues etc. S/he will report to the Team Lead of the Tourism Sector.
The roles and responsibilities of the team member would be to:
- Support the team under the leadership of AVP to engage with multiple stakeholders including Ministries/Departments, State Governments, Quasi-Government Agencies, Industry Associations, PSUs, Investors, and Private Promoters/Investors.
- Support on policy framing for objectives highlighted above by examining issues pertaining to the sector and deliberating with government stakeholders and industry associations
- Coordinate with central & state tourism ministries/board, tourism companies, travel service provides to create deliverables under the PMU
- Designing and collating high impact presentation for new and existing programs
- Laison with international standards bodies/think-tanks, hospitals & diagnostic chains, sovereign wealth funds to deliberate on best practises
- Support team in preparation of high-quality research, reports, DPR’s and briefing notes required for specific projects
- Contribute to the quarterly/monthly deliverables of PMU to the Ministry
Qualifications
- Post-graduate or graduate degree in Hospitality and related streams from a university in India/abroad
- 4-5 years of work experience in a front-end role at a consulting firm / developmental agency/ investment bank / investment promotion agency / global corporate working in Tourism & Hospitality and allied sectors
- Experience of preparing DPR’s, policy briefs, policy analysis, research reports
- Ability to work in teams and take ownership of the task at hand
- Strong commitment to accuracy and professionalism
- Excellent communication, people and analytical skills
- Ability to work amid strict deadlines and on multiple projects
