About the Department

Invest India, the national Investment Promotion & Facilitation Agency of the Government of India, works closely with State and UT Governments across India, on different fronts such as investment promotion, targeting and facilitation, capacity building of state investment teams, policy advocacy, strategic advisory on structuring/restructuring state investment promotion agencies etc.

Invest India, is setting up desk for Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC), and will work towards providing support in multiple activities including industrial promotion, legal and procurement support, digitization of state level procedures and approvals, and project monitoring. The Desk will operate from the office of Goa-IDC.

The Desk would extend both technical and management support to Goa-IDC, in effectively implementing the short term and long-term strategy formulated by Invest India and Goa-IDC.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate hired shall be based in Goa at the office of Goa-IDC, and in general, be responsible for the following activities:

  • Lead engagement with multiple stakeholders including Goa-IDC, Ministries/ Departments, Quasi-Government Agencies, PSUs, and project implementing agencies.
  • Lead high level review meetings with senior leadership from Goa-IDC and central ministries to resolve issues and ensure timely commissioning of high value in projects, in coordination with the Project Monitoring Group, Invest India, DPIIT.
  • Build state expertise and analyse the laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Support in policy research (primary & secondary) to identify bottlenecks in infrastructure development and reduce regulatory burden on industry to improve the overall sector ecosystem.
  • Monitor implementation of Goa-IDC’s major projects like waste management and renewable energy projects and help identify different sources of funding for implementation of the same projects.
  • Coordinate with Invest India for support from several initiatives such as Startup India, NSWS, IILB, Waste to Wealth, Project Development Cells, Country Desks, Capacity Building etc.
  • Explore and identify new avenues for the team to pursue.

 

Qualifications

  • Post Graduate degree/ exceptional graduates in economics, finance, business administration, or related field from a premier institute
  • Relevant Work Experience: 4-8 Years working in a front-end role at a Global Corporate/Government agency/ Consulting firm / Investment Bank/ Chamber or Association
  • Experience in the field of Ease of Doing Business, Research & Policy/ Scheme Devolvement, project execution with central / state government would be preferred
  • Prior understanding about the business ecosystem and administrative set-up of a state
  • Strong business communication & etiquettes, stakeholder management, client relationship management and networking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Experience of working/ running state/ central government. Project Monitoring Units will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 4-6 years of full-time work experience

Some criteria may be relaxed for highly exceptional candidates.
