Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG
Key Responsibilities
1) Policy Research and Strategy Support
•Conduct structured research on infrastructure governance, regulatory bottlenecks, and policy reforms across sectors (roads, railways, power, ports, urban, environment/forest, etc.).
•Draft concise policy notes, concept briefs, and recommendations for strengthening project planning, monitoring, and execution frameworks.
•Support preparation of thematic reports for review forums (PMG/DPIIT/Cabinet Secretariat/PMO-level), ensuring accuracy, neutrality, and clarity.
2) Data-Driven Monitoring and Insights
•Analyse project and issue-level datasets (milestones, time overruns, cost changes, issue ageing, closure rates) to identify systemic patterns and recurring bottlenecks.
•Develop dashboards/trackers and synthesize insights into decision-ready summaries for senior stakeholders.
•Assist in defining monitoring metrics, SOPs, templates, and structured reporting formats to improve consistency and quality of project data.
3) Stakeholder Coordination and Institutional Support
•Coordinate with Ministries, State Governments, PSUs, and implementing agencies to validate facts, collect updates, and close information gaps.
•Participate in review meetings, record action points, and ensure structured follow-up and documentation.
4) Field Inputs and Validation
•Support/undertake site visits, spot assessments, and stakeholder interactions to validate ground realities and capture execution constraints.
•Convert field observations into actionable recommendations and structured issue notes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Economics, Public Policy, Planning, Finance, Management, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA/MPA/MPP/M.Tech/ME/M.Plan) in public policy, infrastructure planning, economics, or management.
- Strong analytical ability: comfortable working with large datasets, trends, and performance indicators.
- Excellent drafting skills: ability to produce clear, structured, notes and reports.
- Understanding of infrastructure project lifecycle: planning, DPR, approvals/clearances, land acquisition, procurement, execution, commissioning.
- Stakeholder management: ability to coordinate across Ministries/States/PSUs professionally and persistently.
- Tools: advanced MS Excel/PowerPoint; familiarity with dashboards (Power BI/Tableau optional); comfortable working with digital platforms and portals.
