Startup India, (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) conceived the National Startup Awards (NSA) to recognize and reward outstanding startups that have exhibited excellence financially, socially, and economically.

The results for the third edition were announced by Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, on 16th January 2023 commemorating the National Startup Day. 41 startups across 17 sectors and 50 sub-sectors, 2 incubators, and 1 accelerator were identified as the winners of the National Startup Awards 2022. Other than the exemplary winners, 82 finalist startups have proven their mettle through various rounds of evaluation. 

To facilitate the growth of the winners and finalists, the startups will be guided through a variety of initiatives aimed at helping them overcome challenges and achieve even greater success. DPIIT launched the National Startup Awards 2022 Handholding Program on 02nd May 2023 in the presence of Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, DPIIT. The third edition of the handholding program will see support being offered across five distinct tracks – Government Connect, Investor Connect, Corporate and Unicorn Engagements, International Engagements, and Brand Showcase. Several partners have been onboarded to execute the same including the Government e-Marketplace, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (IVCA), Indian Angel Network (IAN), HSBC, MobiKwik, Good Glam Group, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), and Viacom 18.
