Project Monitoring Group (PMG) has been regularly conducting review meetings to get definite timelines for resolving issues pertaining to mega infrastructure projects, which are pending with different state governments and central ministries. These review meetings are attended by central ministry officials, senior officials from the concerned state government, district collectors and project proponents. Open issues in projects spanning across major sectors, including railways, roads and highways, oil and gas, coal, mines, metro, power, renewable energy, and cement, are discussed at length in these meetings. Three state review meetings and 6 ministry sub-group review meetings were conducted by PMG. Officials from the cabinet secretariat were also present, and they provided their valuable feedback and inputs. 

  • Kerala and Puducherry Review Meeting was chaired by Dr. Surendra Kumar Ahirwar, Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India. 16 issues in 5 projects, having a total investment value of INR 27,301.43 Cr was discussed. As a result of this review, 10 issues across 2 projects were resolved. Further, clear timelines were given by the state government officials to resolve open issues.

  • Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, and Ministry of Textiles Sub-Group Review Meeting were chaired by Rajendra Ratnoo, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. 205 issues in 15 projects, having a total investment value of INR 3.77 lakh crore, were discussed. As a result of this review, 18 issues across 5 projects were resolved.

  • Haryana Review Meeting was chaired by Amrit Lal Meena, Special Secretary (Logistics), DPIIT, Government of India. The meeting was also attended by Mahesh Kumar Madan, Chief Engineer, Public Works Department - Buildings and Roads (PWD – B and R) Department, Government of Haryana. 22 issues in 13 projects, having a total investment value of INR 2,11,925 Cr, were discussed. As a result of this review, 2 issues across 2 projects were resolved. Further, clear timelines were given by the state government officials to resolve the open issues.

  • Ministry of Power, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and Ministry of Mines Sub-group Review Meeting was chaired by Rajendra Ratnoo, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. 27 issues in 25 projects, having a total investment value of INR 3.05 lakh crore, were discussed. As a result of this review, 6 issues across 6 projects were resolved. Further, clear timelines were given by the state government officials to resolve the open issues.

  • Nodal Officers’ Meeting was chaired by Amrit Lal Meena, Special Secretary (Logistics), DPIIT was held with nodal officers of all ministries through video conference to discuss the matter pertaining to delayed infrastructure projects. The meeting agenda was to discuss progress on entry of milestone data, actions taken by ministries to expedite project implementation, setting up in-house PMG cells in ministries, and updating project-level information on the PMG portal.

  • Capacity Building Sessions: Three training workshops on a walkthrough of the PMG portal, including a milestone-based monitoring mechanism, were conducted by PMG for officials of Ministry Power.  

A capacity-building session of 45+ officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) was conducted by PMG. Participants were trained on utilising the PMG portal for milestone-based monitoring of road projects being implemented by them.  

Milestone training sessions were organised by PMG for training participants and sharing observations and feedback on the entry of milestone data on the PMG portal. These sessions organised by the team over two days were attended by 200+ representatives from several ministries, including Ministry of Coal, Ministry Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Steel, and Ministry of Power.
