State Review Meetings:

PMG has been regularly conducting review meetings to get definite timelines for resolving issues pertaining to mega infrastructure projects, pending with different state governments and central ministries. These review meetings are attended by central ministry officials, senior officials from the concerned state government, district collectors and project proponents. Open issues in projects spanning major sectors, including railways, roads and highways, oil and gas, coal, mines, metro, power, renewable energy, and cement, are discussed at length in these meetings. PMG conducted five state review meetings and two sub-group review meetings. 

  • Andhra Pradesh Review Meeting was chaired by the Special Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India. 49 issues in 22 projects, having a total investment value of INR 70,364.54 Cr, were discussed. As a result of this review, 06 issues across 06 projects were resolved.

  • Maharashtra Review Meeting was chaired by Special Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. One hundred issues from 43 projects worth INR 4.80 lakh crores were reviewed, including some highly ambitious multi-state projects like the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project (a hallmark of India-Japan cooperation). Special Secretary, DPIIT, lauded the effort of state officials who were instrumental in the expeditious resolution of more than 70 issues since the last meeting.   • Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Railways Review Meeting was chaired by Special Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. In this review, 57 issues across 40 projects worth INR 3.37 lakh crores were reviewed to ensure project progress, removal of infrastructure bottlenecks and better stakeholder coordination. Senior officials from key central Ministries were present, and stringent timelines were provided to ensure the timely commissioning of these projects. Special Secretary expressed his appreciation of the exemplary work done by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in streamlining the regulatory process for obtaining environment, forest, and wildlife clearances and extensive reforms taken to ensure timely infrastructure commission projects across India.

  • Chhattisgarh Review Meeting was chaired by Special Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. 35 issues in 16 projects, having a total investment value of INR 1.1 lakh crores, were discussed. As a result of this review, 11 issues across 07 projects were resolved.

  • Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Ministry Power Review Meeting was chaired by Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. 27 issues in 18 projects, having a total investment value of INR 3,15,660.27 crores, were discussed. As a result of this review, 07 issues in 04 projects were resolved. Further, well-defined timelines were given by the ministry officials to resolve open issues.

  • North-Eastern Region [Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, and Nagaland] Review Meeting was chaired by the Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. 53 issues in 12 projects, having a total investment value of INR 43,349 crores, were discussed. As a result of this review, 05 issues in 04 projects were resolved.

Review of PMG Projects by Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat

PMG has been conducting review meetings under the chairpersonship of Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat, to review the overall progress of critical high-value projects facing long pending issues with state governments. During these meetings, the focus has been on reviewing the milestone information specifically pertaining to construction and commissioning milestones, aimed at identifying causes of delays in implementation and issues hindering the project's progress. Thereafter, stringent timelines are set for the resolution of issues so that the implementation can be expedited and the project can be commissioned as per its scheduled timeline.

Gujarat Review: In this review, 14 important projects of the state of Gujarat (with 37 issues) worth INR 2,77,757.72 Cr were reviewed.

Karnataka Review: In this review, eight important projects of Karnataka (with 17 issues) worth INR 18,000 Cr were reviewed.

Uttar Pradesh Review:  In this review, five important projects of Uttar Pradesh (with 25 issues) worth INR 55,980.96 Cr were reviewed.
