DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) review meetings: Project Monitoring Group (PMG) has been regularly conducting review meetings to get definite timelines for resolving issues about mega infrastructure projects, pending with different state governments and central ministries. These review meetings are attended by central ministry officials, senior officials from the concerned state government, district collectors and project proponents. Open issues in projects spanning major sectors, including railways, roads and highways, oil and gas, coal, mines, metro, power, renewable energy, and cement, are discussed at length in these meetings.

Telangana and Lakshadweep review meeting were chaired by the Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. Thirty-eight issues across 12 projects worth INR 89,671.33 Cr were discussed. Issues in critical projects, including Manoharabad - Kothapalli New Rail Line (151 km), Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) Phase-II Hyderabad, Four Laning of Sangareddy - Akola - Nanded Section of National Highway (NH)-161, 4 Laning of Mancherial - Chandrapur Section of NH-363, were discussed during the meeting. As a result of this review, 16 issues across five projects were resolved. For the resolution of remaining issues, well-defined timelines were provided by the state government.

Tamil Nadu review meeting was chaired by the Special Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. Seventeen projects in Tamil Nadu (with 46 issues) worth INR 52,996.89 Cr were reviewed to ensure project progress, removal of infrastructure bottlenecks and better stakeholder coordination. Important projects such as GAIL Kochi-Koottanad-Bengaluru-Mangalore Pipeline (KKBMPL), Tindivanam-Nagari New Line Project (179.2 km), Four laning of Vikravandi - Sethiathope - Cholapuram - Thanjavur section of NH-45C, were reviewed in the meeting. As a result of this review, six issues across five projects were resolved.

Jharkhand review meeting was chaired by the Special Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India. In this review, 33 infrastructure projects (with 80 critical issues) worth INR 97,622.55 Cr were reviewed to facilitate the speedy execution of projects. Progress of critical projects such as the North Karanpura Thermal Power Plant, Gua Iron Ore Mine project, and six-laning of the Chordaha- Barwa Adda - Panagarh section of NH-2 is likely to be expedited as a result of this review.

Project review by Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat: PMG has been facilitating review meetings under the chairpersonship of the Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat, to review the overall progress of critical high-value projects facing long pending issues with state governments. During these meetings, the focus has been on reviewing the milestone information, specifically about construction and commissioning milestones, aimed at identifying causes of delays in implementation and issues hindering the project's progress. After that, stringent timelines are set for the resolution of issues so that the implementation can be expedited, and the project can be commissioned as per its scheduled timeline.

West Bengal review: In this review, four critical projects in West Bengal (with 28 issues) worth INR 45,273 Cr were reviewed.

Delhi review - In this review, six important projects in Delhi (with 24 issues) worth INR 104869.17 Cr were reviewed.

Himachal Pradesh review – In this review, seven important projects in Himachal Pradesh (with ten issues) worth INR 16,500 Cr were reviewed. 

Railways review – In this review, ten important projects of railways worth INR 14,580 Cr were reviewed. 

PMG site visits:

Gujarat visit: PMG team accompanied a team of officials from the Prime Miniter Office (PMO) for a spot assessment visit to Gujarat. The visit included a review of ongoing works in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor near Anand, the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor near Anand, the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project, Redevelopment of Ahmedabad Railways Stations, National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal. The visit also witnessed a meeting with the Chief Secretary of Gujarat to discuss these projects' progress and key policy interventions required in other important areas.

Uttarakhand visit: PMG team accompanied officials from PMO on a visit to Uttarakhand. The visit was undertaken to assess and review the redevelopment projects ongoing in Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham.

Delhi site visit: PMG visited two major highway project sites in Delhi - Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road -II. The site visit helped better appreciate the on-ground situation and assess the progress of works as per the milestones committed by various stakeholders in the PMG review meeting.
