States opportunities Webinar with Norwegian Business Association India (NBAI) and member companies

Invest India, in collaboration with the Norwegian Business Association India (NBAI) conducted the 2nd edition of its quarterly ‘India Opportunities’ session. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. B Ramanjaneyulu, Director, Department for Promotion of Investment and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Invest India presented a brief on the new Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), and highlighted investment-friendly policies, incentives and infrastructure in Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The discussion also highlighted potential areas of collaboration with Norway- namely Energy, Capital Goods, Shipping, Maritime, Oil & Gas and Food Processing. 20+ Norwegian companies attended the session.

Access India Initiative: Setting up Company in India Webinar for Italian Companies

The Webinar was organised by the Embassy of India, Rome in association with Invest India. Invest India presented the India Opportunity to Italian companies with a focus on Ease of Doing Business reforms and market entry in the Indian market. This webinar brought together industry experts, entrepreneurs, and professionals to explore the exciting and rewarding possibilities of establishing a company in India.

Defence Focused Roadshow in Madrid: Opportunities for Spanish Defence Companies in India

Embassy of India in Madrid organized a defense event in association with DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, Confederación Española de Organizaciones Empresariales (CEOE) in Madrid Manufacturing opportunities in the defense sector in India were presented to the Spanish companies present at the event. Invest India presented the macroeconomic outlook of India, and the opportunities and policies present in manufacturing and exporting of defence goods. The event saw the participation of 40+ companies from defense manufacturing sector.

Sustainability Roundtable conducted in collaboration with Lindstrom (Finland)

The sustainability team along with Western Europe, in collaboration with Lindstrom, organized a panel discussion on sustainability and people practices. The discussion was chaired by the SVP of Lindstrom Asia, along with Mr. Gaurav Sishodia from Invest India, with a dialogue around diverse sectors like- healthcare, education, and capital goods. The session was a healthy discussion on the adoption of sustainable practices in businesses and production, imparting sustainable values to employees, the impact of sustainability on business results, and inculcating the values of “LiFE”. Lindstrom’s leading technology for sustainable textile production and utilization was discussed, along with its usage of recycled fabric.

Access India Initiative: Webinar on Financial Support for Italian SMEs in India

The Embassy of India in Rome as part of the Access India Initiative organised the ‘Doing Business in India’ webinar for small and medium enterprises in Italy. The team presented examples of successful facilitation cases and the support provided by Invest India. The webinar witnessed the participation of more than 35 companies across strategically important sectors.

Invest India and Business France MoU Signing

Invest India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy. The CEO of Business France, Mr. Laurent Saint-Martin, and the MD & CEO of Invest India, Ms. Nivruti Rai, formally signed and exchanged the MoU in a virtual ceremony. This partnership aims to enhance cooperation between the two agencies and contribute to the promotion of investment and innovation between companies and startups in India and France. This will also leverage the strengths and existing business relations between India and France and provide a seamless facilitation channel for new businesses and innovations to grow in both markets.

11th Meeting of the Indo-French CEOs Forum

The 11th meeting of the Indo-French CEOs Forum was held at Quai d'Orsay in Paris on the occasion of the state visit of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi. The CEOs Forum took place in the presence of Mr. Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy and Finance, Mrs. Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ajit Doval, National Security Advisor of India and Mr. Vinayak Kwatra, Foreign Secretary of India. Hon’ble PM and the President of France jointly addressed a group of leading Indian and French CEOs from diverse sectors including aviation and defence, manufacturing, technology and energy, among others. Our Prime Minister acknowledged the role played by these industry leaders in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting economic cooperation between India and France. He also encouraged the CEOs to utilize the opportunities in India and be a part of India’s growth story.

Marking the 25th anniversary of the India-France Strategic Partnership, both countries also reiterated their strong commitment to further strengthen this partnership through concrete steps to intensify bilateral cooperation in trade and investment. The 11th session focused on two themes of mutual importance:

  • Innovation in green infrastructure and sustainable cities
  • Strategic partnership in manufacturing and R&D.
