To advance the Accelerating Growth of New India’s Innovations (AGNIi) Mission’s work in MSME clusters, the team is undertaking a collaboration with the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The team is working with the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom to understand the relevant value chain in this sector; develop an understanding of the pain-points, problems and challenges faced at the different nodes of the value chain; understand the existing technology landscape and necessary areas of intervention for the identified use-cases; assess the willingness to pay preference for upgradation or adoption of technology; and build operational scenarios based on field learnings. Going forward the team will conduct in-depth consultations and focus group discussions with manufacturers/exporters and artisans to understand pain-points pertaining to their craft or handloom. It will provide advisory on the most impactful technological solutions, from the Indian innovation ecosystem to potential adopters in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
