Tourism is the highest contributor to Goa's GSDP under the service sector

The state recorded arrival of 7.01 Mn domestic tourist and 174,800 foreign tourist in 2022 and is a key contributor to the Goan economy. The inauguration of a new airport in Mopa is expected to significantly boost tourism in North Goa. The state has also introduced initiatives like Home Stay Policy to adapt to global changes in the tourism sector. The state hosts multiple social and cultural events on a Global scale annually.

Given the high literacy and presence of knowledge-based industries in the state, the Government of India has granted approval to the state government for constructing a world-class Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Tuem.

Goa is a key exporter of pharmaceutical products, and over 90% of the formulations manufactured are exported

Goa is the 4th largest Pharma producer of the country with more than 120 manufacturing units in the pharmaceutical sector. Exports from Goa in the pharma sector account for 10% of the total pharmaceutical exports of India.

The major mineral reserves of Bauxite, Iron ore and Manganese ore are of economic importance in Goa. The Bauxite Mines are situated in South Goa over an area of 1263.678 Ha with estimated reserves of 70 Mn Tonnes

The mining belt of Goa covers an area of approximately 700 sq. km and is mostly concentrated in Bicholim, Salcete, Sanguem and Quepem.
