Project Monitoring Group (PMG) is an institutional mechanism for expedited resolution of issues and milestone-based monitoring of projects with investments upwards of INR 500 crores. PMG aims to flag and remedy issues impeding implementation of mega infrastructure projects and to help foster infrastructure that underpins sustainable development, creates direct and indirect jobs, and sustains the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

  • Regional Workshops on PM GatiShakti National Master Plan

Regional Workshops on Prime Minister GatiShakti National Master Plan feature discussions with infrastructure Ministries/Departments at the Centre and State levels, focused on formulation, implementation, and monitoring of logistics policies, city logistics plans for urban development, wider adoption of PM GatiShakti, and resolution of issues through engagement with the Project Monitoring Group (PMG). In these workshops, detailed presentations were delivered on the Project Monitoring Group mechanism and the advantages that it offers for all stakeholders. The presentations also included case studies of specific projects wherein PMG has played an instrumental role in resolution of critical issues. 

I.    Central and Western Region Conference in Goa

  • The first PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) Regional Workshop for Central and Western Zone was organized under the chairmanship of Special Secretary, Logistics Division, DPIIT.
  • The regional workshop witnessed participation of senior government officials from Central Ministries/Departments including Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Ministry of Railways, Department of Telecommunications and NITI Aayog, and State Governments of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.


II.    Southern Region Conference in Kerala

  • The second PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) regional workshop for Southern Zone was organized under the chairmanship of Special Secretary, Logistics Division, DPIIT, in Kerala. 
  • The regional workshop witnessed participation of senior government officials from Central Ministries/Departments including Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Ministry of Railways, Department of Telecommunications and NITI Aayog, and Governments of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar and Daman and, Diu and Dadra, and Nagar Haveli.

Review Meetings

Project Monitoring Group has been regularly conducting review meetings to get definite timelines for resolution of issues pertaining to mega infrastructure projects, which are pending with different State Governments and Central Ministries. These review meetings are attended by central ministry officials, senior officials from the concerned State Governments, District Collectors, and Project Proponents. 

Review Meetings chaired by Special Secretary/Joint Secretary DPIIT

  • Ministry of Defence, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Power, Department of Telecommunications, and Ministry of Law and Justice Review: In this meeting, 32 issues in 29 projects (worth INR 2 Lakh Cr.) were reviewed.
DPIIT Review Meetings
  • Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, and Ministry of Steel Review: In this meeting, 25 issues in 25 projects worth INR 1,63,029 Cr. were reviewed. Issues affecting high-impact projects such as Rishikesh-Karnaprayag New Rail Line, Delhi-Ghaziabad Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), and Noida International Airport were reviewed, and stringent timelines were committed by the ministries for timely resolution of issues and commissioning of projects.
DPIIT Review Meetings
  • Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Coal, Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, and Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Review: In this meeting, 34 issues in 30 projects worth INR 2,27,301 Cr. were reviewed.
DPIIT Review Meetings
  • Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, and Ministry of Civil Aviation Review: In this meeting, 05 issues in 05 projects worth INR 30,274 Cr. were reviewed.

Review Meetings chaired by Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat

  • Gujarat Review: In this review, 44 projects with 55 issues worth INR 2,90,588 Cr. were reviewed to ensure project progress, removal of infrastructure bottlenecks, and better stakeholder coordination.
DPIIT Review Meetings
  • Madhya Pradesh Review: In this review, 34 projects with 43 issues worth INR 76,363 Cr. were reviewed.
DPIIT Review Meetings
  • Karnataka Review: In this meeting, 29 projects in the State of Karnataka with 37 issues worth INR 64,168 Cr. were reviewed.
  • Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand Review: In this meeting, 38 projects with 11 issues worth INR 2,34,102 Cr. were reviewed. 
  • West Bengal Review: In this meeting, 26 projects in the State of West Bengal with 30 issues worth INR 95,073 Cr. were reviewed.

  • Assam Review: In this review, 28 projects with 10 issues worth INR 81,662 Cr. were reviewed.

  • Rajasthan Review: In this meeting, 48 projects in the State of Rajasthan with 19 issues were reviewed.
  • Punjab Review: In this meeting, 20 projects in the State of Punjab with 26 issues worth INR 88,158 Cr. were reviewed.
