About the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India
In November 1999, the Cabinet Secretariat established the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (OPSA) to the Government of India. The PSA’s office aims to provide pragmatic and objective advice to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet in matters of Science and Technology.
We are looking for a Program Specialist - IT & Digital Services at OPSA is responsible for managing and overseeing IT programs and delivery. This includes planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, monitoring program performance, addressing issues and risks, and providing recommendations for program improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IT programs (website and other digital platforms).
- Monitor website performance and address issues and risks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and policies.
- Manage relationship with agencies like NIC and vendors.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Participate in procurement activities.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
- Minimum 4-5 years of IT & program management experience particularly with a government agency.
- Working Experience of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery etc
- Working Experience of relational databases, version control tools and of developing web services
- Strong knowledge of program management and procurement practices .
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Additional skill set required to setup and maintaining application servers based on Linux and windows Operating System.
- Working Experience in opensource CMS softwares such as Wordpress, Drupal, Moodle, etc.
- Contribute to all phases of the development of applications, modules, plugins, portals and deployment of testing and Production server, ensuring adherence to the guidelines of the Government of India.
