About the Department
Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department of Promotion for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investment Promotion & Business Development
-
Develop and execute a focused outreach strategy to identify and engage prospective investors from Singapore and the ASEAN region.

Generate and nurture a robust pipeline of investment opportunities across priority sectors.
-
Conduct one-on-one investor meetings, business development discussions, and strategic engagements to position India as a preferred investment destination.
-
Leverage existing networks and build new relationships with corporates, sovereign funds, family offices, venture capital firms, private equity investors, and multinational enterprises.
-
Collaborate closely with sectoral and state teams to facilitate investor engagement and project conversion.
2. Pipeline Development & Investor Facilitation
-
Identify, qualify, and progress investment leads through structured engagement and follow-up.
-
Facilitate investor interactions with relevant sectoral, state, and government stakeholders.
-
Track investment opportunities through the entire lifecycle—from lead generation to project realization.
-
Ensure timely handover and coordination with internal teams for seamless investor servicing.
-
Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and investment tracking through Invest India's CRM and reporting systems.
3. Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with industry associations, chambers of commerce, business councils, government agencies, diplomatic missions, consulting firms, legal advisors, and trade promotion organizations.

Develop collaborative programs and partnerships to enhance India's visibility within the Singapore business ecosystem.

Engage with innovation hubs, R&D organizations, technology platforms, and emerging business communities to identify future investment opportunities.

Generate market intelligence and stakeholder insights to support strategic investment promotion initiatives.
4. Bilateral, Multilateral & Government Engagements

Support India's participation in bilateral and multilateral platforms including:

Joint Working Groups (JWGs)

CEO Forums
-
Business and Trade Councils
-
QUAD
-
IPEF
-
WAIPA
-
ASEAN-related platforms
-
Other Government-to-Government (G2G) initiatives

Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of commitments, action points, and outcomes.

Support senior leadership during high-level government and business delegations.
5. Investor Intelligence & Knowledge Management

Develop country-specific intelligence reports covering:

Investment trends
-
Industry developments
-
Trade and economic insights
-
Emerging opportunities
-
Competitive positioning
-
Prepare investment promotion collateral, presentations, briefing notes, market reports, and leadership communication materials.

Respond to investor queries and information requests within defined turnaround times.

Provide actionable recommendations to support investment attraction strategies.
6. Ease of Doing Business & Policy Advocacy
-
Identify challenges faced by investors and facilitate resolution through relevant stakeholders.
-
Support policy advocacy efforts by capturing industry feedback and emerging market trends.
-
Organize investor roundtables, consultation forums, and policy dialogue sessions.
-
Contribute recommendations aimed at improving India's investment climate and Ease of Doing Business (EoDB).
7. Reporting, CRM & Digital Presence
-
Ensure accurate and timely updates of all investor interactions, leads, advisory engagements, and project progress in Invest India's Investor Relationship Management (IRM) systems.

Maintain and update Singapore-specific content on Invest India's digital platforms.
-
Generate periodic reports, dashboards, and management updates on business development activities and outcomes.
Qualifications
Education
-
MBA from Tier 1 colleges
Experience
-
12–15 years of overall professional experience.
-
Minimum 5 years of work experience associated with Singapore and/or ASEAN markets.

Demonstrated experience in business development, relationship management, and lead generation.
-
Strong understanding of Singapore's business ecosystem, investment landscape, and regional market dynamics.
-
Experience working with senior corporate stakeholders, investors, government agencies, or industry associations.

Employment Type
