About the Department
Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
Key Responsibilities
State Government Engagement
- Develop and implement a state engagement strategy across national initiatives – Manthan and RuTAGe Smart Village Centre (RSVC)
- Liaise with state government departments (Industry, Higher Education, Rural Development, Agriculture, IT, MSME etc.) for convergence and
program integration.
- Coordinate approvals, permissions, and access to state-level platforms and networks.
Partnership Building & Local Ecosystem Strengthening
- Build strong relationships with state startup missions, state universities, incubation centres, industry associations, MSME clusters, FPOs, SHGs, and
rural entrepreneurs.
Program Coordination & Field Support
- Monitor field activities, track outcomes, and ensure compliance with governance protocols.
- Support documentation, reporting, and case studies from state-level activities.
Stakeholder Communication Reporting & Insights
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders and provide regular updates to the central team.
- Provide insights on state ecosystem, risks, opportunities, and scaling pathways.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree (MBA or MS or equivalent) is preferable.
- Prior professional experience in business development, pre-sales and consulting sales, program management.
- R&D collaborations, CSR, sustainability, or similar backgrounds preferred.
- Attention to detail and taking end-to-end ownership.
- High degree of responsibility, with demonstrated supporting experience.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills; the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and simply, in writing and verbally, to technology and funding decision-makers at senior level.
- Must understand a sense of urgency and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong management skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently.
