Key Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Aligned with Invest India's role as the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation
Agency (under DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry), the Mid Specialist will support and manage the complete lifecycle of investments across the
infrastructure portfolio - spanning Construction, Warehousing & Logistics, Transportation, Railways, and Ports & Shipping. The role entails close coordination
with relevant line Ministries (including the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Ministry of Railways, and infrastructure-linked departments), internal
Sector and State Teams, and industry partners to ensure seamless investor handholding, policy feedback, and opportunity showcasing at major domestic and
international platforms. The incumbent will report to the Team Lead - Infrastructure
End-to-End Investment Facilitation & Business Development
• Identify, source, and engage high-potential investment leads across the infrastructure portfolio - construction, warehousing & logistics, transportation,
railways, and ports & shipping.
• Conduct targeted outreach to global and domestic infrastructure companies, developers, OEMs, operators, EPC players, technology providers, and logistics
firms.
• Lead end-to-end investor interactions - from irst touchpoint to grounding - ensuring smooth communication and high-quality engagement throughout the
investment lifecycle.
Investment Promotion
• Plan, organize, and execute domestic and international sector-specific roadshows and outreach events.
• Conduct roundtables, webinars, and thematic sessions with embassies/missions, industry associations, and global companies.
• Develop and implement innovative strategies for infrastructure investment pipeline generation, including cluster mapping, ecosystem outreach and project-led
industrialization.
Pipeline Building & Lead Management
• Own the complete investment pipeline across assigned infrastructure sub-sectors, ensuring timely movement of leads towards evaluation, decision-making,
and conversion.
• Categorize leads based on investment value, strategic relevance, lifecycle stage and level of engagement.
• Work closely with central government, state governments and relevant authorities to drive lead progress and investor handholding.
Sector Expertise, Project Structuring & Policy Advisory
• Leverage understanding of the infrastructure landscape, including trends in construction, warehousing & logistics, transportation, railways, and ports &
shipping.
• Demonstrate familiarity with the Indian infrastructure ecosystem, covering governance models, central and state initiatives, regulations, incentives, and cluster
development.
• Provide advisory support on project structuring, including PPP models, asset monetization frameworks and infrastructure policy.
• Utilize understanding of value chains, components manufacturing and vendor ecosystems to support targeted investment outreach.
Bilateral, Multilateral & G2G Engagements
• Support sector-related deliverables within G2G platforms such as Joint Working Groups, CEO Forums, and bilateral mechanisms.
• Prepare briefs, presentations and talking points and ensure timely follow-ups for high-quality outcomes in international engagements.
Knowledge Collateral, Sector Research & Investor Queries
• Develop high-quality intelligence reports, including country profiles, sector deep-dives, benchmarking studies, and ecosystem analysis.
• Prepare research reports, market analyses, pitch presentations, DPRs, policy notes, and briefing notes for senior officials/CXOs/senior Govt. stakeholders.
• Respond to investor queries with accuracy, depth, and adherence to defined turnaround times.
IRM, Data & Website Management
• Maintain accurate and timely updates on the IRM/CRM system regarding investor meetings, advisory work, project issues, and policy interventions.
• Regularly update sector webpages with relevant blogs, reports, success stories, and knowledge content.
Teamwork & Collaboration
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams (state facilitation, country, and senior leadership) to ensure seamless investor support, taking proactive ownership
and accountability for assigned deliverables.
Qualifications
- Post-graduate or graduate degree (Infrastructure, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related ields) from a premier university in India/abroad; Master's
- preferred.
- 5-7 years of work experience in a front-end role at a consulting irm / developmental agency / investment bank / investment promotion agency / globalcorporate working in infrastructure.
- Core sector experience required across one or more of: Ports and Shipping, Warehousing & Logistics, Construction, and Railways.
- Desired: relevant Ports & Shipping / maritime sector experience - including exposure to a Maritime / Port Authority, port development, shipping, shipbuilding,inland waterways, or coastal infrastructure - will be a strong advantage.
- Experience in preparing policy briefs, policy analysis, and research reports for senior oficials/CXOs/senior Govt. stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management experience; existing networks in the infrastructure ecosystem will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, people, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Demonstrated skills in sector research, project evaluation and business development.
- Strong commitment to accuracy and professionalism, with the ability to work amid strict deadlines and on multiple projects
