Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department of Promotion for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

Key Responsibilities

 

The Procurement Associate will support Invest India's procurement function by assisting in day-to-day sourcing, documentation, and vendor coordination activities under the guidance of senior
procurement team members. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to build a strong foundation in public procurement, government e-procurement systems (GeM), and vendor
management within a fast-paced, mission-driven organization. The Associate will support compliance with Government procurement guidelines while gaining exposure to strategic sourcing, contract

Key Responsibilities:


1. Procurement Support & Documentation

  • Assist in preparing procurement requisitions, RFPs/RFQs, and bid documents under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Support end-to-end processing of procurement requests on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal, including bid creation, vendor query resolution, and order tracking.
  • Maintain procurement trackers, MIS reports, and filing systems to ensure audit readiness.
  • Coordinate with vendors to collect quotations, technical/commercial clarifications, and timely submission of required documents.


2. Compliance & Process Adherence

  • Ensure day-to-day procurement transactions follow Invest India and Government procurement guidelines.
  • Support preparation of procurement approval notes, comparative statements, and supporting documentation for review by senior staff.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records to support internal and external audits.
  • Track contract deliverables, timelines, and basic service-level adherence, flagging discrepancies to seniors.

3. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination

  • Liaise with vendors for routine queries, follow-ups, and documentation requirements.
  • Support senior procurement staff in coordinating with finance, legal, and operations teams on procurement needs.
  • Help maintain and update the vendor database, including basic vendor performance records.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, supply chain, or a related function; internships or academic projects in procurement/public sector work are a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with the GeM Portal preferred; strong willingness to learn GeM processes in depth is essential.
  • Exposure to government or public procurement processes is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; good analytical and documentation skills.
