About the Department
Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.
Key Responsibilities
Data Support and Analysis:
- Provide support with background documents, briefs, and presentations for meetings.
- Prepare written reports and respond to government requests.
- Analyze, source, and review information for policy formulation.
- Collaborate with government and private e-commerce platforms.
- Maintain data systems and databases.
- Assemble, interpret, and analyze information.
- Using automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources.
- Developing and maintaining databases and data systems, reorganizing data for readability.
- Performing analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data.
- Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets for diagnosis and prediction.
- Analyzing local, national, and global trends impacting the organization and the industry.
- Preparing reports for management, highlighting trends, patterns, and predictions from relevant data.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in programming languages and statistical packages.
- A commitment to timelines, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Excellent research and learning abilities.
- The ability to work on multiple projects.
- Knowledge of programming languages, especially Python (libraries like pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn) and R for statistical analysis and data visualization.
- Familiarity with JMP Tool is a plus.
- Knowledge of database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Word to create interactive dashboards and reports.
- Understanding of statistics and experience using statistical packages (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.) is advantageous.
