About the Department
Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Establish and oversee strategic goals for the Data Analytics Team
- Provide consultation and long-term planning.
- Develop strategies to achieve identified goals.
- Preparing final analysis reports for stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to make important decisions based on various facts and trends.
- Mentor and manage Data and AI teams, ensuring their growth and success.
- Develop a roadmap for the Practice and the team, aligning with business objectives.
- Collaborate with the regional leaders to build competency to handle the current and future demands.
- Instrumental in creating a culture of continuous learning and certification among the teams and contribution to open community
Data Analysis and Market Research:
- Analyse trade data to understand market dynamics and identify untapped opportunities.
- Evaluate needs and requirements from external stakeholders.
- Lead efforts to adopt technology for enhanced supply chain efficiency.
Operational Excellence:
- Evaluate and improve operational efficiency.
- Enable real-time feedback mechanisms.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Reporting and Thought Leadership:
- Prepare and present reports to the management, highlighting trends, patterns, and predictions derived from relevant data.
- Drive thought leadership initiatives within the team.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Global Trade and FDI market trends is preferred.
- Knowledge of programming languages, especially Python and R.
- Preferably someone who has worked with an International Trade body or Investment Promotion body.
- Hands-on experience of working with trade data sets like WTO, World Bank, Trade Maps, Ministry of Commerce etc
- Familiarity with JMP Tool is a plus.
- High levels of creativity, critical thinking, and the ability to use data-driven insights effectively.
- A deep interest in writing with a strong commitment to timelines, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Strong market research, organizational, and learning skills.
- Ability to work efficiently on deadlines across multiple projects.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
- A deep understanding of data analysis and market trends.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to operational excellence and fostering a data-driven culture.
- At least 12+ years of experience in a similar role.
- International exposure, particularly in APAC, MEA, and US markets (knowledge of UK and EU is desirable)
- Experience in business development, enterprise sales with a track record in 1 or 2 industries.
