About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Coordinate and oversee the monitoring and evaluation process of fundamental science innovation and research projects.
    • Implement robust evaluation frameworks and methodologies to assess project outcomes and impacts.
    • Conduct site visits, interviews, and data collection activities to gather insights and assess project progress when required.
    • Analyse project data and performance metrics to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  1. Stakeholder Coordination:
    • Coordinate with corporations, industries, startups, academic institutes, and research organizations to gather project data and feedback.
    • Facilitate regular communication and collaboration between stakeholders involved in innovation projects.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective project coordination and evaluation.
  1. Communication and Reporting:
    • Prepare comprehensive project evaluation reports, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and lessons learned.
    • Present evaluation results to stakeholders and senior management, both orally and in writing.
    • Communicate project outcomes and impact to internal and external stakeholders through various channels, including presentations, reports, and newsletters.
  2. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in project evaluation methodologies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and enhance the effectiveness of project monitoring and evaluation efforts.
    • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in project evaluation and apply them to improve processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (science, engineering, technology, business, or related discipline). Master’s degree (MBA or MS or equivalent) is preferable.
  • Proven experience in project evaluation, monitoring, or management, preferably in the field of fundamental science innovation and research.
  • Strong knowledge of science, technology, and research principles, with the ability to understand and evaluate complex scientific concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels. Attention to detail and taking end-to-end ownership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Must understand sense of urgency and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by startups, academic scholars, and research organizations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and integrity.
