India-Japan

An India-Japan Buyer Seller Meet (BSM) is to be held on 28 May 2021 in order to promote the trade of mango from India to Japan. This is conducted under a larger banner of the ‘Mango Festival of India 2021’ in Tokyo – in which there will also be tasting and sales happening across 25 locations, including Costco and 7-Eleven. Furthermore, mangoes are being used in special recipes promoted at major Indian restaurants in Tokyo as well.

For the same, a consignment of ~500 kilograms of mangoes has already been sent and received in Japan. This will be an important opening for Indian mango farmers and traders who have taken a major hit during the pandemic. The events are facilitated under the One District, One Product (ODOP) Initiative in partnership with the Embassy of India, Japan and APEDA.
