Neemrana Japanese Zone in Rajasthan, a unique experiment in India to group together, under a single canopy, companies from an individual country – Japan. It is also the first-of- its- kind cluster in the world to be facilitated by a Japanese government agency, the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).
The Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Industrial Corporation Ltd (RIICO) and JETRO signed a MoU in July 2006 that led to the development of the industrial zone. Spread in more than 1,160 acres, the zone has presence of Japanese industrial giants like Nissin, Nippon, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Mitsui Chemicals and Toyota Kirloskar Motors and offers streamlined license and approval process and other perks for Japanese expats.
The first company to set up base at Neemrana, Nissin Brakes India is in the process of expanding production capacity at its existing plant and is also mulling a new facility in Gujarat. Currently, 80% of its supplies are to Honda while the remaining to Yamaha and Hero Moto Corp in India.
