About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department of Promotion for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

Key Responsibilities

 

The manager will be responsible for assisting the team to execute the strategy for promoting the Auto and EV sector in India, & various other workstreams within the remit of the Ministry. S/he will be closely working with stakeholders both in the industry and government such as corporates, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Niti Aayog, ACMA, SIAM and other concerned ministries / departments, industry associations, etc. Work would entail investment facilitation, organizing stakeholder consultations, policy advocacy, in-depth market research, contributing to industry reports and analysis of issues, etc. S/he will report to the Sector lead and head for Auto.

The roles and responsibilities of the team member would be to:

  • Support the team to engage with multiple stakeholders including corporates, Ministries/Departments, State Governments, Quasi-Government Agencies, Industry Associations, PSUs, Investors, and Private Promoters/Investors.
  • Continuous Targeting and interaction with foreign players to attract investment
  • Evaluation of Business Models of various companies looking to Invest in the Indian Auto market
  • Support policy framing for objectives highlighted above by examining issues pertaining to the sector and deliberating with government stakeholders and industry associations
  • Coordinate with central & state ministries/board, Auto and EV companies on deliverables relevant to the sector
  • Design and collate high impact presentations for new and existing policies
  • Support team in preparation of high-quality research, reports, DPR’s and briefing notes required for specific projects

Qualifications

 

  • Post-graduate or graduate degree from a university in India/abroad
  • 1-4 years of relevant work experience in a front-end role at a consulting firm / developmental agency/ investment bank/investment promotion agency / global corporate
  • Should have a strong inclination to learn about Electric Mobility and Policymaking
  • Experience in preparing DPRs, policy briefs, policy analyses, research reports
  • Ability to work in teams and take ownership of the task at hand
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and professionalism
  • Excellent communication, people, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work amid strict deadlines and on multiple projects
